From recording to words you can use.
One workflow connects listening, context, memory, and speech. Same guide also lives inside Settings → How to Use Poly.
1. Import audio
- Open Library and find Audio.
- Import MP3, M4A, WAV, or supported audio.
- Set audio language from transcript menu.
2. Add synced transcript
- Choose Transcribe Audio for automatic timing.
- Or import LRC, SRT, VTT, or plain text.
- Tap any timed line to jump to that sentence.
3. Understand words or save sentences
- Green words are known, yellow learning, gray new.
- When a transcript opens, Poly prepares contextual meanings in the background and caches them on your device for faster taps.
- Tap one word for contextual meaning, pronunciation, base form, grammar, and source audio.
- Tap Add to Review Words when useful. Tap plus beside a line to save its sentence, paired translation, and exact audio immediately.
4. Review every skill
- Open Today and start Smart Review.
- Poly remembers each card’s Understand, Produce, Listen, Dictation, Type, or Speak mode.
- Mined cards play exact original clip when available.
5. Repeat and shadow
- Choose Practice 1×, 3×, or 5× for automatic line repetition.
- Tap Shadow, listen, record, and replay yourself.
- Compare clarity, stress, rhythm, and timing.
6. Read language progress
- Open Stats after listening or reviewing.
- See known words, listening minutes, and speaking attempts.
- Track audio lessons and mined cards beside retention.
Best first session
Listen once without transcript. Reveal it. Loop unclear lines. Look up three useful words and save one sentence. Review them tomorrow using Listen and Speak modes.
